- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled
- 4 carrots, diced
- 4 celery stalks, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bottle dry red or white wine (like cabernet or chardonnay)
- 1 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 10 peppercorns
